What really stood out to me was the unusual setting. It takes place in an underground town, where the main character Lees works mining hyper-the source of magical power.

She mostly keeps her head down and eyes focused on her work, but a chance encounter with an out-of-town stranger has her putting her mining skills to the test.

An enjoyable, light, fast fantasy read if you’re in the mood for something different than the castles of medieval Europe or grimy streets of NYC.
